You and your colleagues are leading the way in cancer rehabilitation. This year’s STAR Program Connection Conference will be filled with new opportunities to support the terrific work that you are doing! Each year this conference gets bigger and better, and we have a lot of exciting things planned for you and your team.

Here are a few highlights from scheduled sessions:

  • Learn how one STAR Program certified health system increased their cancer rehabilitation referrals by 55% in 2014 and earned $2.9M in revenue
  • Hear how another STAR Program is testing our new lung cancer prehabilitation protocol and has reduced their hospital length of stay by 2 days
  • Find out how to put together your “story board” for the cancer rehabilitation value based care that you can show payers
  • Listen to hospital executives explain how to overcome key barriers and fast-track success when implementing an oncology rehabilitation service line

For the first time, you choose a track— clinical or administrative. Bring your entire team to get the best training in evidence-based and high-value cancer rehabilitation care! We will also share what the STAR Program has accomplished over the past year and what lies ahead in the coming year. Find out the results of the initiatives that we announced at last year’s STAR Program  Connection Conference and get the inside scoop on how to lead the way in 2016!

Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available by CIAO Seminars for SLP, PT/PTA, OT/COTA and Case Managers. Physicians are eligible for Category 2 Continuing Medical Education (CME). Nursing CEUs will be provided by the Alabama Nursing Society. Total number of CEUs will be 1.25 (12.5 contact hours).

Why Attend?

Energize Your Entire STAR Program
Leading experts will present the latest research, best practices and tactical solutions to keep your team in the forefront of cancer rehabilitation care! We encourage STAR Programs to bring their entire team of clinicians and administrators, as well as members of STAR Program Steering Committee and other leaders in the program. Participants may include referral coordinators, mental health professionals, outcomes coordinators, quality directors, researchers, marketing/communication directors and others who are involved in the support of the STAR Program.

Expand your Knowledge in the Evolving Field of Cancer Rehabilitation and Prehabilitation
Discover how your STAR Program can benefit from the changes in today’s dynamic cancer care landscape. This conference will bring together healthcare professionals that are leading the way in survivorship care and evidence-based cancer rehabilitation.  Speakers include physiatrists, oncologists, hospital executives, navigators, rehabilitation clinicians and  national  healthcare business and finance leaders.

Featuring Clinical and Administrative Tracks
Last year, our STAR Program conference attendees provided feedback about what they would like to see at the 2015 STAR Program Connection Conference. We are very excited to announce that we will feature both clinical and administrative tracks during this year’s conference. These expert presentations will focus on specific clinical/administrative interventions designed to enhance and expand your STAR Program and improve the care of patients with unique diagnoses and impairments.

The Best Networking in Cancer Rehabilitation is at the Connection Conference!
We bring together more leaders in cancer rehabilitation care than any other conference, and the networking is fantastic! In addition to the formal lectures, there will be time to meet and consult with your STAR Program Manager, as well as many opportunities to network and share information with other STAR Programs. You will also be able to explore scenic Boston.
